Intertek Participates at IPEIA 2026
Intertek AIM (Asset Integrity Management), a Student Offering Sponsor for IPEIA 2026, will be presenting and exhibiting during the 2026 International Pressure Equipment Integrity Association (IPEIA) Conference, March 10 – 12 at the TELUC Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Tom Burnett, Intertek AIM Power Generation Technical Director, will present technical paper ABST-0812 – Condensate Management Concerns of the Combined Cycle Generating Plant with Dead Leg Design on Wednesday, March 11th, from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM in GLEN 203/204 Presentation Room B.
This presentation focuses on an area of operations and conditions in high energy piping systems that are not instrumented to properly provide plant operators’ warnings of excessive condensate conditions during startups and adding additional units. This may cause substantial damage to steam piping and the steam turbine.
During the three-day event at BOOTH #22, AIM Engineering & Software General Manager, Rana Ghosh, and Senior Mechanical Engineer, Robert Gialdini, along with Tom Burnett and other Intertek personnel are available to discuss Intertek’s Asset Integrity Management solutions. Our (AIM) team provides comprehensive, technically advanced solutions that help power generation and oil & gas operators manage risk, improve safety, optimize asset performance, and achieve regulatory compliance throughout asset lifecycles
Presenter, Tom Burnett, has over 50 years of experience in the field of fossil power plant design, construction, start-up, controls, operation, maintenance, system upgrades, and performance analysis. His extensive experience includes lignite, coal, oil and gas combustion in utility and industrial boiler applications. Tom has testified in matters involving the effect of operation and maintenance practices on the reliability and condition of power plants, including industrial cogeneration plants, large coal-fired supercritical boilers and combined cycle plants.
Rana Ghosh, with over 40 years of experience, provides consultancy and solutions to the energy market globally, and manages the Aware™ software development and delivery groups within Intertek AIM.
Robert Gialdini has over 30 years of professional mechanical engineering experience. He specializes in failure analysis, high energy piping, mechanical testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
